This data model allows for the integration of clinical data including discrete nursing documentation and patient assessment information in both in-patient and out-patient settings. Each observation is associated with a discrete data field within the medical record, although free text comments can be included as an observation value. Functionality: Read and/or Write Type: Event Based

It is important to note that this data model does not provide specific device ID information (if that is what you're looking for, see Device). Common use cases for this data model include:
Sending discrete value readings to the patient chart (for example, quantified blood loss)
Sending information from an admission assessment form (for example, pain scores)
