The road to going live: Create a clear path for your healthcare integration project

Redox

Welcome to the network

It’s time to embark on your digital transformation journey. Whether or not you’ve worked with Redox before via one of our Healthgrades customers, this will be your first time installing the Redox Enterprise Platform at your healthcare organization. We’re excited to work with you, but before we get started, we want to give you a better sense of the steps involved, who’s in charge of each, and how everything fits into place.

We break the implementation process down into two core components: a one-time Redox Enterprise implementation, and a repeatable process for every new Healthgrades you connect thereafter. As we move past your first project and onto projects two, ten, fifty, and one hundred, you’ll benefit from streamlined and accelerated Healthgrades implementations as we learn the nuances of your EHR and interface set-up and re-use existing feeds. You’ll also see first-hand the value of working with Healthgrades that have already leveraged the Redox Platform and API at other healthcare organizations, such that no additional development work is required on their part.

This efficiency is the strength of our network, and we’re happy you’re a part of it.

The process

Key players

To ensure that everyone is on the same page, here are the titles and roles that will be brought in to help complete the Redox Enterprise implementation and subsequent Healthgrades projects.

Health System Interface Analyst: Configures the interface to send/receive messages; sends test messages

Health System EHR Analyst: Makes updates to the EHR if needed; assists with workflow testing

Network Analyst: Assists with VPN connectivity and troubleshooting

Getting started

At the beginning of the integration project, we work with you to ask the health system technical questions to determine their current scope and capabilities. This will help you and your Redox Customer Success Manager establish an accurate timeline for your project and figure out what tasks need to get done in which order.

  1. What EHR/PM vendor(s) does your organization use?
  2. Does your in-house IT team support your EHRs/PM systems or is it outsourced to your vendor?
  3. Are those systems capable of sending and/or receiving HL7? Do they have web services available for integration needs?
  4. Based on our integration scope, do you have these interfaces live today or will you need to provision a new interface(s).
  5. If you do not have specific HL7 feeds or web services enabled today, do you know what the engagement process looks like with the EHR vendor to provision those?

Project timeline and resources

Approximately 10-15 hours are required from the Health System’s IT team to complete an integration project with Redox (see below).

Beyond going live

Once you’ve successfully set up your production interface feeds and gone live with your first Healthgrades, you’ve done the lion’s share of the work required to go live with future Healthgrades. With project one in the books, your Account Manager work with you to identify your next project site and get the ball rolling on your next integration.

In the meantime, our Integration Team will monitor and maintain your connection to ensure it’s healthy and that messages continue to be securely exchanged.

If you ever need assistance or have questions about the technical aspects of your integration (or anything else), get in touch with your Redox Account Manager. We’re always here to help.
